Lloyds Banking Group Allows Cross-Brand Branch Access for All Customers
Lloyds Banking Group Cross-Brand Branch Access for All Customers

Lloyds Banking Group has confirmed that all its branches are now accessible to customers of any of its brands, including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland. The change, implemented last year, allows customers to manage their accounts in person at any branch of the group, regardless of which brand they bank with.

Notice Prompts Clarification

A notice placed in the window of the Lloyds Bank branch in Devizes, Wiltshire, on 21 June 2026 read: "Hello Halifax customers? Did you know? You can use Lloyds branches to manage your Halifax account. Speak to us today." This prompted the banking group to clarify the policy.

Previously, the group already offered cross-brand services via telephone, but the expansion to physical branches means customers can now access face-to-face assistance at a branch nearer to their home than was previously possible.

Official Statement

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: "We're always looking for ways to make banking easier and more flexible for our customers, so last year we offered Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers the option to use branches of any brand for their in-person banking, alongside our apps, mobile messaging, and telephone services."

Additional Services and Branch Closures

The group also operates 170 Community Bankers who provide banking services and account help in locations where local branches have closed. Each banker works from a designated area within a community facility or a banking hub. Residents can find available local banking services via the Lloyds Bank website.

Despite this expansion of access, Lloyds Bank is scheduled to close 59 branches between June and November 2026. The closures include locations such as Hull Ings Rd (15 June), Moreton-in-Marsh (15 June), Birmingham Bordesley Green (16 June), Llangefni (16 June), Wareham (16 June), Tewkesbury (17 June), Woodley (17 June), Sevenoaks (18 June), Uttoxeter (18 June), Camberwell Green (22 June), Hoddesdon (22 June), Kingswinford (22 June), Aberdare (23 June), Coalville (23 June), Heswall (23 June), Ringwood (23 June), Didcot (24 June), Newmarket (24 June), Swansea Enterprise Park (2 July), Daventry (3 August), Bristol Fishponds (6 August), Horncastle (10 August), Harrow (23 September), London Whitechapel (23 September), Chelmsford (24 September), Carlisle (29 September), Rochdale (1 October), Barnsley (5 October), Chatham (5 October), Chepstow (7 October), Camborne (7 October), Ryde (7 October), Deal (8 October), Harborne (8 October), Gorseinon (12 October), Southampton Totton (12 October), South Shields (12 October), Stamford (13 October), Blackpool (13 October), Knowle Bristol (14 October), Rotherham (15 October), St Helens (15 October), Devizes (21 October), Widnes (21 October), Chesterfield (22 October), Arnold (27 October), Llandudno (28 October), Braintree (29 October), Stoke-on-Trent (30 October), Accrington (3 November), Wallsend (3 November), Ilkeston (5 November), Willenhall (5 November), Huyton (9 November), Leicester Melton Rd (9 November), Wakefield (10 November), Wigston Magna (11 November), Worksop (11 November), and Harrogate (19 November).
