This follows over 4 million members receiving the payment in 2025, with financial experts suggesting a similar opportunity could arise in 2026.
Steps to Qualify for the £100 Fairer Share Bonus
To boost your chances of securing the bonus, customers must adhere to specific criteria outlined by Nationwide. According to Moneysavingexpert assistant editor Peter Lekarski, the building society typically announces such schemes in May and disburses payments in June.
First, maintain an active current account by keeping it open and using it regularly during the first three months of the year. This involves either depositing £500 and making two outgoing payments, or executing at least 10 outgoing payments in two of the initial three months.
Second, ensure you have at least £100 in a Nationwide savings account or owe £100 on a mortgage by March. Lekarski notes that this requirement often catches people off guard, but it can be easily met by depositing £100 into a savings account.
Additional Switching Incentive for New Customers
New customers who switch from other banks could earn an extra £175 on top of the £100 bonus, bringing the total potential payout to £275. This incentive is designed to attract individuals looking to change their banking provider while rewarding existing members for their loyalty.
