DPD Driver Caught on Camera Throwing Parcel Onto Balcony in Essex
DPD Driver Throws Parcel Onto Balcony in Essex Incident

In a startling display of delivery audacity, a DPD driver was captured on camera launching a parcel onto a balcony two floors up, rather than taking the stairs to deliver it properly. The incident occurred in Harlow, Essex, where a passerby filmed the moment the driver hurled the small package over the second-floor balcony, with it hitting the recipient's door.

Eyewitness Account of the Balcony Throw

The witness, who was dropping off a friend at the time, reported that the driver had initially attempted to throw the parcel and missed before she started recording. She described the scene, noting that after successfully tossing the parcel, the driver gave a thumbs-up to nearby children, seemingly waving to them. She remarked, "Their parcel is definitely broken!" highlighting the potential damage from such a reckless delivery method.

History of Questionable DPD Deliveries

This footage adds to a growing collection of videos showing DPD drivers employing unconventional techniques. In a separate incident from January last year in south London, a driver was recorded flinging a package over a closed gate. To document the delivery, the driver quickly took a photo of the parcel mid-air before it crashed to the ground.

James, the intended recipient in that case, shared his mixed reactions with the Daily Mail. He expressed initial annoyance at the "sheer audacity" of the act but later found it amusing. He noted that the driver was aware of the camera, making the bold move even more surprising.

More Serious Delivery Issues

Beyond mere laziness, some DPD incidents involve outright theft. In Rochdale, Manchester, Samuel Taylor ordered an iPhone 17 Pro Max worth £1,264 from Giffgaff. While at work, he received a delivery confirmation photo showing the package supposedly posted through his letterbox. However, upon returning home, his father confirmed nothing had arrived.

Security footage revealed the driver taking the parcel to the door, then walking back with it still in hand after faking the delivery photo. DPD responded by removing the driver from the business and issuing a heartfelt apology to Samuel.

The Daily Mail has reached out to DPD for comment on these recurring issues, underscoring concerns over delivery standards and customer trust in the service.
