Woman Finds Rare Jellycats in Charity Shop for £1 Each, Stunned by True Value
Rare Jellycats Found for £1 Each Shock Woman

A savvy bargain hunter was left gobsmacked after stumbling on two rare Jellycat toys in a charity shop, only to discover they were worth considerably more than their price tags suggested.

Amy, who regularly trawls second-hand shops for hidden gems to resell, always keeps her eyes peeled for Jellycat toys owing to their huge popularity among collectors. During a recent trip to a local charity shop, she came across what she described as an absolute dream find.

Sharing her excitement on TikTok, Amy said: "I hit charity shop goal today and found two very rare items that I have been looking for for a very long time." The reseller was rummaging through baskets of donated toys when something instantly caught her eye — a giant Jellycat bunny poking out from the pile.

"That's exactly how he was hanging out of the basket," she said.

According to Amy, the toy typically sells for between £40 and £60 online, making it a remarkable find for any collector. Even more impressively, she managed to snap it up for less than the marked price. The bunny had originally been tagged at £3, but after spotting a fault with its tail, the charity shop worker let her have it for just £1.

Thrilled with her first discovery, Amy carried on hunting through the shelves and toy baskets. That's when she clocked another rare Jellycat — this time a woolly mammoth, which is currently listed online for around £68. Much like the bunny, the mammoth was priced at £3, yet Amy said she bagged it for only £1. That meant she secured both coveted Jellycats for just £2 in total.

To most shoppers, they might have appeared like regular cuddly toys. However, devoted Jellycat collectors recognise that certain discontinued and rare designs can fetch remarkably high prices on the second-hand market. The premium soft toy brand has built a devoted following in recent years, with particular characters routinely selling out and becoming hugely desirable among collectors.

Amy intends to auction both toys online and is hopeful their scarcity will generate significant interest.

Responding to her post, one user said: "Amazing finds! I never come across Jellycats for that price anymore." Another user added: "Absolutely great finds. Not 100% sure the bunny is worth £40-60 other colours definitely are worth a lot but cream and beige don't usually sell for a lot."

A third user said: "I found a peony bashful bunny the other day for £4 and I've been told she goes for quite a lot! Amazing finds." One more user added: "I found a personalised bunny baby toy worth £55 got it for £1 but it says Matilda on it and that isn't my name, sadly."
