Woman's Ingenious Retaliation Against Lawn-Parking Driver

A woman has sparked widespread discussion after detailing her unconventional response to an entitled stranger who parked their car on her meticulously maintained garden. The incident occurred opposite a pub that hosts live music events on Monday evenings, where limited parking led one driver to allegedly use her lawn as an impromptu parking space.

The Unwelcome Visitor

Explaining the situation on Reddit, the homeowner described returning from a walk to find a vehicle driven over the kerb and parked between her flower pots on the manicured grass. "I came out to walk over and listen to the music yesterday and... someone had clearly found it so hard to park that they drove up over the kerb and parked on my lawn," she wrote. "Yup. Driven up over the curb and nestled their piece-of-crap car between my flower pots and onto the manicured grass."

After entering the pub to request the driver move their vehicle and noticing a musician acting suspiciously without confessing, she decided to take matters into her own hands. "I went into the pub to ask whoever it was to move and I saw one of the musicians look shifty, but he didn't own up. Or move. Fine," she recounted.

The Creative Revenge Plan

Armed with a pen, Post-it notes, extra-sticky duct tape, and bright red lipstick, the woman executed her plan. "I wrote DO NOT PARK HERE in bright red lipstick on every single window, including the little side ones at the back," she explained. "Then I wrote NO PARKING on four or five Post-it notes and stuck them to the front and back windscreens with a ludicrous amount of duct tape - about two feet per note."

She acknowledged the driver was likely watching from the pub window, adding, "I knew full well that whoever had parked there was probably watching me through the pub window. I hope they also enjoyed their drive of shame home, scraping the duct tape glue off the glass and trying to remove the rock-hard, set lipstick. Then I went to bed." By morning, the car had disappeared, and she installed a wooden post to prevent future occurrences.

Online Reactions and Alternative Suggestions

While many Reddit users applauded her creative approach, others proposed more extreme measures. One commenter suggested, "Vaseline smeared on the windows and door handles." Another added, "Dumping any foul-smelling liquid down the windshield air vents is another option. Unless they know how to change the cabin air filter, it will be a permanent stench."

A third user shared, "I knew someone who once had issues with another party, so they sprayed the offending party's whole car in heavy-duty spray adhesive." One more person humorously noted, "Since it was parked in your yard, I would think you couldn't be held responsible if your garden sprinklers activated at their normal time and drenched the vehicle with grey water mixed with liquid fertiliser. And if that water happened to drain down into the vehicle's air vents, well..."

The story highlights ongoing tensions in residential areas with limited parking, especially near venues hosting events. It serves as a cautionary tale about respecting private property and the lengths homeowners might go to protect their spaces.
