A UK construction firm that has been operating for nearly a decade has entered administration, becoming the latest in a series of companies in the sector to face financial collapse. Hawksmoor Construction Ltd, based in King's Langley, Hertfordshire, was placed into administration on June 1, 2026, according to a notice in the London Gazette.
The company, incorporated in 2017, describes itself as a multi-award-winning, chartered building firm specialising in prime residential construction. Its website boasts an exceptional team of highly experienced professionals who combine expertise, dedication, and innovation to deliver high-quality craftsmanship and seamless client experiences from design to project completion.
Lee Morris and John Thompson of Marshall Peters have been appointed as joint administrators. Administrators are typically tasked with restructuring a struggling business to improve its financial standing and ability to repay creditors, aiming to avoid liquidation. The Daily Express has contacted the administrators for comment.
Hawksmoor Construction is not alone in its difficulties. Several UK construction companies have recently faced administration or liquidation due to increased operational costs and challenging trading conditions. Northamptonshire-based Agetur, founded in 1985, entered administration in recent weeks, putting hundreds of jobs at risk after reporting a sharp dip in trading and losses of £600,000 up to February 2025. Similarly, Juma Construction Group entered voluntary creditors' liquidation after financial hardships.
Founded by Paul Fitzgerald, MCIOB, Hawksmoor Construction focuses its work throughout London and the Home Counties. The company's website emphasizes a commitment to realizing clients' visions seamlessly and with the highest quality standards, from initial consultation to final completion.
