A savvy shopper known as 'The Second Hand Queen' has shared her secrets for finding designer bargains in London's wealthiest neighbourhoods. Anna, who recently went thrifting in Kensington, where the average house costs £2 million, tested whether the posh postcodes yield better charity shop finds.
Anna's first stop, Royal Trinity Hospice, was a letdown, with prices over £100 deemed 'just too expensive'. Oxfam and Cancer Research shops offered 'okay' items but with 'dated' clothes. However, she struck gold at two hidden gems on Kensington High Street: Vision Foundation and Octavia, which she called 'some of my favourite in London'.
At Vision Foundation, Anna found a brand new Jaded dress originally £65 for just £17, along with jeans, bags, shoes, and accessories. She noted that while not the cheapest, thorough rummaging reveals good bargains. The Octavia shop also impressed with display plates, skirts, and tops.
Fellow bargain hunters chimed in with their own recommendations. One suggested East Dulwich, while another praised Fulham Road. Victoria and Pimlico yielded a Hugo Boss blazer for £25 and a vintage Gucci purse for £30. Others tipped Knutsford, Hale, Altrincham, and Westbourne Grove.
