Shoppers across the United Kingdom need to plan their festive trips to Ikea carefully, as the Swedish furniture giant has confirmed its holiday opening schedule for Christmas and New Year 2025.
Ikea's Festive Closure and Opening Schedule
The retailer will implement a significant break over the core Christmas period. All of Ikea's main UK stores will be closed on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, giving staff time to celebrate with their families.
Operations will resume on Boxing Day, but with shorter trading hours. On Friday 26th December (Boxing Day), stores will welcome customers from 10:30am until 4:30pm.
New Year Opening Arrangements
As the year draws to a close, Ikea will operate under a reduced timetable for the New Year's transition. On New Year's Eve (Wednesday 31st December), stores will be open from 10am to 6pm.
For New Year's Day (Thursday 1st January 2026), the same hours of 10am to 6pm will apply, allowing for post-celebration shopping and returns.

The published hours apply specifically to Ikea's main out-of-town warehouse stores. Customers planning to visit smaller Ikea City Stores or order collection points are strongly advised to check local listings directly, as their hours may differ.
