Dundee Utd Accept £1.8m Ferry Bid from Czech Club

Dundee United have accepted a £1.8 million bid for Will Ferry from an unnamed Czech top-flight club, with the Republic of Ireland international now holding talks over a potential move.

Ferry has been given time off to consider the offer, which includes significant further add-ons. The 25-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Tannadice, having joined as a free agent from Cheltenham Town in 2022.

English Championship Interest

English Championship sides Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers are also keen on Ferry but have not been able to match the Czech club's offer. Ferry has been a key figure for manager Jim Goodwin, serving as vice-captain and earning his first Republic of Ireland cap earlier this year.

Previous Transfer Interest

United previously turned down a six-figure bid from Vancouver Whitecaps for Ferry in January. The club has shifted towards a trading model over the last 12 months, which saw Nikolaj Moller sold to Sandefjord for six figures in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Sportswriter Scott Burns for Reach PLC, the deal would represent a significant profit on a player who arrived on a free transfer and has developed into a key asset for the Scottish Premiership side.
