Freeview has announced a channel shake-up effective June 25, 2026, urging users to retune their TVs to keep their channel listings up to date. The changes include a channel name change, three channels moving positions, and one channel shutting down entirely.
Name Change and Channel Moves
Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 has been renamed to simply Wedotv. Meanwhile, three children's channels have moved to new slots: Ketchup TV moves from channel 209 to 208, Ketchup Too from 210 to 209, and Cartoon Classics from 214 to 210.
Talk Channel Closure
Talk (channel 280), a British news channel launched in 2022 focusing on debate and opinion-led journalism, will no longer be available on Freeview. Viewers can still access Talk via its app on Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
Freeview stated: "Channels are constantly evolving on Freeview with individual channels making the decision to move, add or remove channels. Freeview continues to ensure that audiences can enjoy a rich and varied content."
How to Retune
To update your TV, press the menu button on your remote, select 'set-up', 'installation', or 'update', then choose 'first-time installation' (sometimes called 'factory reset' or 'full retune'). Confirm deletion of existing channels, and the retune will start automatically. Save the channels when prompted.
