Emergency services are attending an incident where a person was tragically struck by a train, causing major rail disruption to services to Manchester Piccadilly this afternoon. The incident occurred on the line between Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield on Sunday, June 28, with lines currently closed.

CrossCountry Statement
A CrossCountry spokesperson said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Stafford and Stockport some lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted."
