Under the revised system, general members of the MileagePlus programme who do not possess a United credit card will see their earnings drop from five miles per dollar spent on a ticket to just three miles per dollar. In contrast, United cardholders will benefit from an enhanced rate of six miles per dollar spent, with the potential for even higher earnings if they use their card specifically for ticket purchases.
