Six people have been taken to hospital and a further 13 were assessed and discharged at the scene after a bus crash in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, which police declared a major incident. The collision occurred on the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout (Parc y Bocs) at approximately 12:20 pm on 23 June 2026.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Dyfed-Powys Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, and Mid and West Wales Fire Rescue Service responded to the incident. A joint statement confirmed that 13 casualties were assessed and discharged at the scene, while six individuals were transported to hospital for further medical attention. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
The bus reportedly flipped onto its side, prompting a large emergency services presence. Welfare arrangements were made at the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly, where affected individuals sought comfort and safety. All those who used the centre have since left.
Road Closure and Investigation
The road remains closed to allow collision investigators to carry out their enquiries. The authorities thanked the public for their patience and the John Burns Centre for their support during the incident.
