Wizz Air Introduces Night-Time Bag Drop Service at London Luton Airport

Passengers flying with Wizz Air from London Luton Airport can now enjoy a significant reduction in travel stress thanks to a newly launched twilight bag drop service. This innovative offering allows holidaymakers to check in their luggage the night before their departure, eliminating the morning rush and providing a smoother start to their journey.

Service Details and Availability

The twilight bag drop service operates seven days a week between 9pm and 2am, specifically catering to passengers with flights scheduled up to 9am the following morning. This strategic timing makes it particularly convenient for those catching early morning departures, allowing them to bypass lengthy queues during peak travel hours.

Wizz Air becomes the third airline to implement such a service at London Luton Airport, following similar initiatives by easyJet and Jet2 last year. The airport's management has expressed enthusiasm about this expansion of passenger-friendly services.

Enhanced Passenger Experience

Clare Armstrong, Head of Guest Experience at London Luton Airport, commented on the new service's benefits: 'The launch of another twilight check-in service will mean even more passengers can get their travels off to the swiftest and simplest start. This follows another hugely exciting year for LLA, with continued investment in passenger facilities, new shops and restaurants, and record customer satisfaction scores achieved.'

The service launch coincides perfectly with the February half-term travel period, providing families and holidaymakers with added convenience during one of the busiest travel seasons.

Expanding Route Network

Wizz Air continues to expand its offerings from London Luton Airport with several new routes becoming available. From March 29, passengers can access low-cost fares to multiple Spanish destinations including Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, and Seville. The airline already serves popular destinations such as Gdansk, Alicante, and Bordeaux from this busy travel hub.

WIZZ Class Expansion

In addition to the new bag drop service, Wizz Air has recently expanded its premium 'WIZZ Class' offering across its entire network. This enhancement follows a successful trial period at six key bases and strong passenger demand for increased comfort without premium pricing.

WIZZ Class was initially introduced on selected flights to and from Budapest, Bucharest Otopeni, Warsaw, London Luton, London Gatwick, and Rome Fiumicino. The airline reports that uptake has exceeded expectations, particularly among business travelers seeking additional space and a more comfortable onboard experience.

What WIZZ Class Offers

Unlike traditional business class offerings, WIZZ Class maintains Wizz Air's efficient single-class cabin layout while providing enhanced comfort features. Passengers enjoy:

  • A reserved empty middle seat in the first row (positions 1B and 1E)
  • Additional personal space and a more comfortable environment
  • Extra legroom inherent to the first row seating
  • A complimentary non-alcoholic drink and snack

The service can be purchased as an add-on when selecting Smart or Plus bundles from February 9, 2026. These bundles already include priority boarding and a 10kg carry-on suitcase allowance.

The combination of the new twilight bag drop service and expanded WIZZ Class offerings demonstrates Wizz Air's commitment to enhancing passenger convenience and comfort while maintaining its budget-friendly approach to air travel.
