Merseyside Police have cordoned off a large section of Birkenhead Park following a 'serious' incident that occurred late on Saturday night. The ECHO understands the incident happened close to Birkenhead Park Cricket Club.
Park Gates Locked and Forensic Team at Scene
The gates to the lower part of the historic park have been locked by Wirral Council, preventing public access. Police officers, including a forensic team, are visible inside a large cordon. A local resident told the ECHO that a police officer had informed them of a 'serious' incident.
