A 51-year-old man is on trial in Stuttgart, Germany, accused of killing a mother of two and dragging her body more than 200 metres across the city in a Juicy Couture suitcase before dumping it under a bridge near a children's playground.
The gruesome discovery was made in August 2025 after residents complained of a foul smell. The suitcase was found hidden under a bridge, and police initially had no clues about the victim's identity. A public appeal was launched, along with a €1,000 reward for information leading to a resolution.
The body was eventually identified as a 40-year-old mother of two, identified only as Gülşah by German media. She had been missing since July 21, 2025, and was last seen in Stuttgart on the same day. She leaves behind a 20-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son.
The accused, Ahmed F, is charged with manslaughter. Prosecutors allege he killed the victim in his apartment between late July and early August 2025, placed her body in the Juicy Couture suitcase, and dragged it approximately 210 metres from his apartment in Stuttgart's Filderstadt suburb to the bridge where it was found.
Ahmed F, described as an acquaintance of the victim, reportedly remained silent at the start of court proceedings. According to police, the pair met through Stuttgart's drug scene. The exact circumstances of Gülşah's death remain unclear, the indictment states.
The trial is ongoing in the Criminal Chamber of the Stuttgart Regional Court, with a verdict expected on July 23.
