Ex-Husband Charged in Ohio Dentist Murder

The ex-husband of a woman found shot dead alongside her new husband, a dentist, in their Ohio home has been formally charged with their murders, according to court records obtained by the Daily Mail.

A Disturbing Discovery in Weinland Park

Michael David McKee, 39, now faces two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37. The couple were discovered gunned down in their Weinland Park residence in the early hours of Saturday, December 30.

Police reports indicate Spencer Tepe sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique Tepe was shot once in the chest. Tragically, their one-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were found in the home unhurt, alongside the family dog. The children are now in the care of relatives.

The Investigation and Evidence

Authorities revealed there was no sign of forced entry at the property, and the murder weapon has not been recovered. However, investigators did find three 9mm shell casings at the scene. Police have stated they do not believe the incident was a murder-suicide.

Columbus Police identified a suspect through neighbourhood video surveillance. A summary statement of facts in support of probable cause details how the suspect was tracked to a vehicle which arrived just before the homicides and left shortly after.

The document states: ‘Detectives were able to identify this vehicle further and link it to Michael McKee. The vehicle was located in Rockford, Illinois, and evidence placed McKee in possession of it both prior to and after the homicides.’

Arrest and Court Proceedings

McKee’s mugshot appears on the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office website, showing he was booked into jail on Saturday just before noon. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

In a chilling detail, it emerged that a neighbour of Spencer and Monique Tepe made a distressed 911 call just over a week before the couple were murdered. The investigation into the double homicide continues as authorities work to establish a full motive.
