Sky Sports and ITV racing presenter Leonna Mayor has publicly announced her separation from former Scotland rugby star Stuart Hogg, less than a year after the birth of their son.
Social Media Announcement Ends Speculation
The 35-year-old broadcaster, a former jockey, shared the news directly with her followers on Instagram on Friday. In her post, Mayor addressed the frequent questions about her personal life, stating clearly: "I am no longer with Stuart."
She asked for privacy, adding: "I'm not one to discuss other people's lives so won't add detail. We'll just say it's just me and Teddy. It has been for a while now." Mayor emphasised her focus on the future with her son, writing: "New year. Fresh start. Me and the most precious thing."
A Relationship Overshadowed by Scandal
The couple's romance became public in November 2023, a timing that drew significant attention as it came just days after Hogg's ex-wife, Gillian, gave birth to their fourth child together.
The relationship was further thrust into the spotlight a year later when Hogg, 33, pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse against Gillian. The former British and Irish Lions full-back avoided a jail sentence, but the conviction severely tarnished the reputation of one of Scottish rugby's most celebrated players.
The pair's son, Teddy, was born on 12 February 2025 in a French hospital, weighing 4lb 6oz. At the time, the family was living in France where Hogg plays for Top 14 club Montpellier.
Hogg's Turbulent Career and Personal Struggles
Hogg's retirement from rugby ahead of the 2023 World Cup was short-lived, as he returned to the sport last year. In a recent interview, he linked his initial retirement to personal turmoil, stating: "I gave up on my rugby career to try to save my marriage."
He admitted to a period of deep confusion and using alcohol as an escape, claiming he is now in a better mental place. "I hurt people," Hogg acknowledged. "Now, I'm learning to be selfless for the right reasons - for my kids, my partner, my team."
Despite finding renewed purpose in France, he cited the distance from his children as the "real downside" of his current situation.
With Mayor's announcement, this chapter of both their lives appears closed as they focus on their separate futures and co-parenting their young son.
