Pregnant Woman Stabbed by Ex in Garden Attack After Ending Relationship

Megan Atkins, a 25-year-old woman from Desborough, Northamptonshire, endured a horrific knife attack by her former partner, Jordan Scott, after she ended their relationship while four months pregnant. The brutal assault occurred in her own back garden, leaving her with severe facial injuries and her new partner, Kyle Wilson, with a significant shoulder wound.

A Relationship That Quickly Turned Dangerous

Megan and Jordan Scott's relationship began with promise but rapidly deteriorated into a nightmare scenario. Just three weeks into their romance in July 2021, Megan discovered she was expecting their first child. Initially, Jordan appeared thrilled by the pregnancy announcement, but his behavior soon changed dramatically.

"He became rude, argumentative and intense," Megan recalled. "He stopped coming home, refused to support me and showed no interest in the baby." Concerns from friends and family about Jordan's reputation for trouble proved accurate, prompting Megan to end the relationship in July 2021 for her own safety and that of her unborn child.

Escalating Harassment and Legal Intervention

Jordan Scott did not accept the breakup peacefully. He persistently contacted Megan through social media despite being blocked, leaving her terrified. This harassment led to legal action, with Jordan receiving a two-year restraining order for harassment without violence from Northampton Magistrates' Court in October 2021.

Megan gave birth to her son via emergency caesarean section the following month and moved into temporary accommodation in Kettering, attempting to escape the ongoing torment. She later met her current partner, Kyle Wilson, on Tinder in June 2023, and the couple returned to live with Megan's parents in January 2024.

The Brutal Garden Attack

The situation reached its violent climax on June 29, 2024. Megan had spotted Jordan at a local carnival earlier that day and returned home to avoid contact. While relaxing in her back garden with Kyle and family members that evening, Jordan forced his way through the back gate.

"Jordan came in through our back gate and began shouting," Megan described. "Suddenly, he presented a knife and quickly lunged at Kyle." During the ensuing struggle, Megan attempted to grab the knife, suffering severe cuts to her hand. Jordan then drove the blade into her face, stabbing her inside the mouth.

"I turned around holding my mouth shut and blood trickled down onto the floor," she remembered. "I thought I was going to die." Police arrived within minutes of her 999 call, arresting Jordan at the scene.

Severe Injuries and Ongoing Recovery

The attack left both victims with significant injuries requiring hospital treatment:

  • Megan suffered three broken teeth requiring composite bonding and extensive dental treatment for mouth injuries
  • Her hand sustained severe slashes from attempting to grab the knife
  • Kyle Wilson's shoulder wound was so deep it required medical glue to repair

"I'm still recovering from the ordeal," Megan admitted. "I've had to go back into therapy for PTSD and I've been prescribed antidepressants. There have been times where I would avoid setting foot in the garden." She credits Kyle with being her "absolute rock" throughout the recovery process.

Legal Consequences and Ongoing Fears

Jordan Scott appeared at Northampton Crown Court on December 9, 2024, pleading guilty to multiple charges including:

  1. Attempting wounding with intent
  2. Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
  3. Inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent
  4. Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place

On March 11, 2025, he received a sentence of six years and nine months imprisonment with an additional four-year extension period. The court also imposed a £228 surcharge and a restraining order until further notice.

While Megan expressed satisfaction with the sentence length, she remains fearful about the future. "I do fear that once he's released he will come back to finish what he started," she confessed. "It makes me scared because essentially he now has nothing to lose. I believe he will come back and finish what he started."

Despite the trauma, Megan has rebuilt her life with Kyle, welcoming their second child together in September 2025. The couple continues to support each other through the ongoing psychological impact of the violent attack that changed their lives forever.
