Stuart Hogg's Cryptic Post After Split from ITV Racing's Leonna Mayor
Stuart Hogg posts cryptic update after split from partner

Former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg has posted a cryptic social media update following the announcement of his split from television presenter Leonna Mayor.

Announcement of the Split

The 33-year-old sportsman had been in a relationship with Mayor, a host for ITV Racing and Sky Sports, since November 2023. The couple share a son, Teddy, who was born almost a year ago.

However, on Friday, Mayor revealed in an emotional Instagram statement that the pair were no longer together. She expressed her hope for a "fresh start" in the new year, focusing on her life with their young son.

Hogg's Cryptic Response and Past Conviction

Last night, Hogg responded on his own Instagram account with an enigmatic post. He shared a snippet of the song 'Tit for Tat' by Tate McRae alongside the quote: “The peace that you feel without them is worth being the villain in their story.”

This development comes just over a year after Hogg's legal troubles. In November 2024, the former rugby star was convicted under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act for a campaign of abuse against his ex-wife, Gillian. He pleaded guilty to one charge at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Mayor, 34, had publicly supported Hogg throughout that court case, standing by the former Scotland and British & Irish Lions full-back.

Moving Forward Separately

In her announcement, Mayor addressed her followers directly. "Now seems as good as time as any," she began. "Lots of you guys asking about my situation and life recently – I am no longer with Stuart."

She declined to provide further detail but confirmed she and Teddy had been on their own for some time. "New year. Fresh start. Me and the most precious thing," she added, hinting at upcoming plans in both her personal and professional life.

Hogg, who initially retired from rugby at 31 only to return in 2024 with French club Montpellier, has previously spoken about his personal struggles. He told the Rugby Paper that he had "used alcohol to escape" during a difficult period in his life, acknowledging he had hurt people.

The couple had gone public with their romance shortly after Hogg's ex-wife gave birth to their fourth child.
