Alcatraz Ferry Crash: Passengers Injured as Boat Slams into Pier
Alcatraz Ferry Crash Injures Passengers

A ferry carrying sightseers to Alcatraz Island crashed into a pier in San Francisco Bay on Sunday evening, shattering windows and throwing passengers off their feet in a terrifying ordeal. The Alcatraz City Cruises vessel repeatedly struck Pier 31 while attempting to dock, according to witnesses.

Passengers Describe Traumatic Experience

Passenger Olivia RiosAcuña, who booked the tour for her boat-loving son, described the incident as "traumatic." She told KGO-TV: "I was terrified. I was like, what on earth is going on? And then I was like, okay, who on earth is driving this boat?" Her son was left in tears after the experience.

Another passenger, Genesis Alcocer, noted that while staff did not make a big deal of the incident, "you can tell in their face they were panicking." Daniel Aburto questioned the crew's competence, saying: "Is it your first day? That was my thought. Like, this is your first day. There's no way."
