Police have recovered the bodies of three women from the sea off Brighton, prompting a fast-moving investigation. Emergency services were called at approximately 5:45 am on Wednesday after concerns were raised for the women's welfare. The bodies were pulled from the water near Madeira Drive, a popular seafront location.

Sussex Police Chief Superintendent Adam Hays described the incident as tragic. In a statement, he said, "This is a truly tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the families of the women at this difficult time. Fast-moving inquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances." He urged the public to avoid the area to allow emergency services to work.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are working to confirm the identities of the women and understand what led to the incident. Officers are conducting door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage. The coastguard and other agencies are assisting.
