A body believed to be that of missing man Scott Astbury has been discovered, Cheshire Police confirmed on Wednesday, June 24. Officers had been searching for the 42-year-old, who was last seen at approximately 9.20am on Sunday, June 14, in the Ince Marshes area of Ince, Cheshire.
Details of the Disappearance
Scott Astbury, also known as Will, was described as being around 6 feet tall, with a brown or ginger beard, tattoos on his hands and both forearms, and mousy brown medium-length hair usually slicked back. His disappearance prompted a police appeal for information earlier this month.
Discovery of the Body
In a statement released on June 24, Cheshire Police reported that a body had been found during the search. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, officers believe the body is that of Scott Astbury. His next of kin have been informed.
Police have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. A file will be prepared for the coroner.
