A body has been found in the search for two missing Bangladeshi doctoral students at the University of South Florida, and a suspect has been arrested, authorities said Friday.

The remains of Zamil Limon, one of the missing students, were discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge. The search continues for Nahida Bristy, the other missing student, officials confirmed.

Arrest Made Near Campus

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa responded to a "barricaded subject connected to the missing USF students" in a neighborhood about one mile from the campus, leading to an arrest.

Last Seen on Campus

Limon and Bristy were last seen on April 16 at the USF campus in Tampa, Florida, according to a statement from the University of South Florida Police Department. Limon, a doctoral student in geography, environmental science and policy, was last seen at his home in a student apartment complex. Bristy, a doctoral student in chemical engineering, was last seen an hour later at a campus science building.

Out-of-Character Disappearance

A family friend contacted authorities last Friday after being unable to reach either student, USF police said. Friends and family described the lack of communication as out of character.

More details are expected to follow as the investigation continues.
