Food Delivery Driver Sentenced to Prison for Indecent Exposure During Work

A fast food delivery driver has been handed a six-month prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple counts of indecent exposure while carrying out his professional duties across several Berkshire towns.

Details of the Offences

Sethupathi Perisamy, aged 47 and residing at Clifton Road in Slough, committed the offences between 8th March and 11th May last year while working as a food delivery driver. During his employment, he attended numerous addresses in Maidenhead, Slough, and Windsor, where he deliberately exposed himself to members of the public.

The case was heard at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, where the court learned that Perisamy was arrested on 16th May and formally charged with the offences the following day. He was subsequently convicted of five separate counts of exposure.

Police Investigation and Statement

Thames Valley Police released a statement detailing their investigation into the incidents. Detective Constable Ashley Jones of Berkshire East CID, who led the investigation, commented on the case.

"Thames Valley Police's CID team in Berkshire East conducted a thorough investigation to bring Sethupathi Perisamy to justice," said DC Jones. "I am pleased Perisamy has been convicted and jailed for these sexual offences, which have a significant impact on victims."

The detective constable added: "If you have been a victim of a sexual offence, Thames Valley Police will listen and support you. To report an offence please contact the force by visiting a police station, leaving details via our website or calling 101."

Sentencing and Prevention Order

In addition to the six-month prison sentence, Perisamy has been made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will remain in effect for ten years. This order places specific restrictions on his behaviour and is designed to protect the public from further offences.

The case highlights how offenders can exploit positions of trust and access to private addresses, with the delivery driver using his professional role to commit these sexual offences against unsuspecting members of the public.

Thames Valley Police have emphasised their commitment to investigating such crimes thoroughly and supporting victims throughout the legal process. The successful prosecution demonstrates how law enforcement agencies work to bring offenders to justice even when crimes occur across multiple locations and over an extended period.
