She stated: 'At approximately 10:40pm on May 25, 2026, a fire engine was involved in a collision with a person on an electric scooter in Princes Road, Dartford. The fire engine was travelling to a reported emergency. Our thoughts are with everyone affected and we are fully committed to supporting Kent Police's investigation into the incident.'

Kent Police have launched an appeal for witnesses. A police spokesman said: 'Kent Police was called to Princes Road at about 10:44pm on Monday, May 25, 2026 where a fire engine was involved in a collision with an e-scooter at the junction with Darenth Road. Officers along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) attended the scene and the rider of the e-scooter, a 21-year-old man was taken to London hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Anyone who saw the collision, or who might have seen the vehicles beforehand, is urged to contact police.'

A spokesperson for SECAmb added: 'SECAmb were called at approximately 10:45pm yesterday evening to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a scooter on Princes Road in Dartford. Multiple crews attended the scene and assessed and treated the rider of the scooter before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent Surrey Sussex. The patient was then taken via road to a London hospital for further medical treatment.'
