Eminem's Ex-Wife Arrested Again for DUI Two Days After Court

Eminem's troubled ex-wife Kimberly Mathers has been arrested once more, merely two days after she appeared in court concerning a shocking DUI crash. The 51-year-old was taken into custody on Wednesday after allegedly colliding with a parked vehicle in the 21 Mile Zone near Detroit around 9:20 p.m., as confirmed by Chesterfield Township Police Detective Sergeant Joseph Feld Scott to TMZ.

Police booked her on a suspected DUI charge at Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, early Thursday morning. No injuries were reported, and it remains unclear where Mathers was traveling to or from at the time of the incident.

This latest arrest follows Mathers' no-contest plea on Monday in court regarding an incident on February 16. She was accused of crashing her white Range Rover into a parked Dodge Ram. According to TMZ, her son Parker was in the vehicle with three of his friends, heading out shopping. Mathers is also the mother of daughter Hailie Jade, 30, with rapper Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III.

Mathers was married to Eminem from 1999 to 2001, and they remarried briefly in 2006. She faced charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage. Officials stated the collision pushed the truck 50 feet from its parking spot, as reported by Click on Detroit.

Bodycam footage from the February incident showed Mathers chatting with officers outside her home. She claimed that another driver in a "little blue car" swerved into her lane, leaving her "no choice" but to veer into the pickup truck. "I didn't see the pickup truck, but I felt the impact," she told police. When asked about alcohol or drug consumption, she allegedly replied, "No." Officers noted she had also hit her garage door with the vehicle. Mathers attributed the distraction to "screaming and yelling" children in the Range Rover, who thought they were being followed.

When asked when she last drank, Mathers said, "An hour, two hours, maybe three hours ago." Police retrieved her insurance information and searched the vehicle, discovering alcohol. In a separate video, Mathers, clad in a hooded zip-up sweater, submitted to a preliminary breath test. After breathing into the device, she was handcuffed and asked police to notify her family.

She allegedly crashed her car a second time as she pulled into her driveway, failing to stop and slamming into her garage door. A photo obtained by TMZ on February 23 showed the white Range Rover with a smashed passenger-side headlight and damaged bumper, partially ripped off. It was unclear which crash caused the majority of the damage. A neighbor who witnessed the crash called the police. Mathers was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries and discharged early on February 24.

Mathers' life has often been surrounded by controversy, particularly during her relationships with Eminem. They met in 1987, began dating years later, and married in 1999. The marriage ended in divorce in 2001, but they reunited and remarried in 2006, only to split again later that year. In 1995, Mathers and Eminem welcomed daughter Hailie. She later had son Parker with another partner, and in 2002, she and then-boyfriend Eric Hartter had Stevie Laine Scott. Eminem adopted Stevie in 2005 after reconciling with Mathers. Hartter died in 2019. Eminem also adopted Alaina Marie Scott, 32, daughter of Mathers' sister Dawn Scott, who died in 2016 after battling drug addiction. Mathers is expected in court for a sentencing hearing on June 17.
