Wisconsin Court Sentences Former Teacher to Over Half a Century in Prison
A hushed Wisconsin courtroom witnessed a former teacher's aide deliver a tearful apology this week before receiving a devastating prison sentence for sexually abusing students. Anna Marie Crocker, 34, was handed a term of 51 and a half years behind bars on Tuesday for a series of predatory sex crimes involving boys between the ages of 12 and 16.
Guilty Plea and Emotional Apology
Crocker, a mother of four, had pleaded guilty in December 2025 to multiple felony charges, including first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, child exploitation, and child enticement. During her sentencing hearing in Kenosha County, she issued a groveling plea for leniency, directly addressing her young victims.
'I take full responsibility for what has taken place. I am disturbed by the harm and distress, along with the trauma you've had to endure,' Crocker stated, according to local station WISN. 'I'm deeply sorry that this has caused pain and anger and that you have to live with this the rest of your lives.'
Systematic Abuse and Investigation
The case unraveled after a former student accused Crocker of sexual assault, leading to her firing and arrest in October 2024. She had worked as an educational assistant at Riverview Elementary School in Silver Lake for four years. The initial complaint came from parents of a then-12-year-old boy, who believed Crocker assaulted their son during a sleepover she hosted for her own child at her residence.
This accusation triggered a comprehensive investigation that revealed multiple other victims. Prosecutors detailed a pattern of horrific behavior, including:
- Filming child pornography videos and exposing herself to a child.
- Sending a 14-year-old boy explicit videos of herself masturbating with a vibrator and exchanging over 200 messages via Snapchat.
- Transmitting sexually explicit videos and inappropriate messages to a 13-year-old boy.
- Attempting to invite a 16-year-old to her home for sex just one day before her arrest.
Authorities confirmed Crocker abused four boys in total. One prosecutor remarked at the hearing that she 'couldn't help herself' and was 'juggling all of these boys at the same time.'
Victim Impact and Official Statements
The emotional toll on the victims was starkly evident. One mother, who remained anonymous, confronted Crocker in court, stating, 'This person destroyed my son's psyche and loving and caring spirit.' The family has since moved out of state due to the trauma.
Kenosha County Deputy District Attorney Rosa Delgado declared, 'Justice was served today for the four children this defendant groomed and sexually abused.' In a Facebook statement, she emphasized, 'This office has made clear that child predators will face severe consequences. Her betrayal of trust, victim-blaming, and efforts to intimidate the victims only deepened the harm. That conduct was criminal and will not be tolerated in Kenosha County.'
District Attorney Xavier Solis labeled Crocker's actions a 'profound breach of trust,' adding, 'When an adult connected to our schools exploits our children, the harm is severe and lasting. This sentence sends a clear message to any school employee who preys on our children, in Kenosha County, you will be held accountable.'
Lifetime Consequences
Beyond the prison sentence, which will extend until Crocker is well into her 80s, she will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of her life. The case underscores ongoing concerns about safety in educational settings, with Solis noting, 'We have had issues in our schools, and my office takes these matters extremely seriously. Protecting children and preserving the integrity of our educational institutions will always be a top priority.'
