Florida Mom Arrested for Kicking Child at Youth Game

A Florida mother was taken into custody on Saturday following a violent altercation at a youth football game in Fort Myers. Renee Lambert, 42, was arrested after she allegedly ran onto the field and kicked a juvenile player during a Pop Warner game at Brooks Park, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Incident Details

Deputies responded to reports of a fight breaking out between players after a play. Video footage released by the Sheriff's Office shows Lambert sprinting onto the field and thrusting herself into the melee before kicking a child. Lambert claimed that a player had struck her with a helmet, prompting her reaction, but investigators stated there was no evidence to support this assertion.

Arrest and Charges

Lambert was charged with child abuse without great bodily harm and resisting an officer. Bodycam footage captures her engaging in a heated, expletive-laden exchange with law enforcement as they attempted to detain her. She can be heard shouting, "Get your hands off me," and insisting she was the victim. An officer responded, "I'm mad at an adult for attacking a kid."

Sheriff's Statement

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno condemned the incident, stating, "It's sad that children playing sports becomes a physical confrontation. We need to have law and order. We need to protect everyone. So as sheriff, I'm not going to tolerate it."
