A 38-year-old man, understood to be a father, has died after being discovered with serious injuries on a Glasgow street on Christmas Day.
Police investigation underway following tragic death
Dean Kennedy was found wounded in the Woodside area of the city at 11.40pm on Thursday, 25 December, 2025. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Napiershall Street, where the road was sealed off along with North Woodside Road.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, but medical staff were unable to save his life. Police Scotland has confirmed his death is being treated as suspicious and that officers are "following a positive line of enquiry."
Scene sealed as tributes pour in for 'gem of a boy'
Forensic officers in full protective suits were photographed at the location, which remained cordoned off with police tape. The significant police presence prevented residents from accessing their homes on side streets.
Heartbroken friends have paid emotional tributes to Dean on social media. One wrote on Facebook: "Rest easy my good friend taken from our streets but not our hearts. Gutted." Another said: "What a gem of a boy he was honestly. Can't believe it."
Other messages expressed sympathy for his family, with one person writing: "His poor family. RIP young chap fly high with your angels," and another commenting on the "horrible world" we live in.
Continued police presence and appeal for information
Police Scotland has stated there will be a continued presence in the Woodside area while their investigation continues. A force spokesperson reiterated the appeal for information, saying: "Officers are following a positive line of enquiry and there will be a continued police presence in the area. Anyone with any concerns can approach these officers."
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dean Kennedy's death remains active.
