Emergency services have cordoned off a Natwest Bank branch in Golders Green, London, after a number of people fell ill on Friday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police have stated that it is currently too early to determine whether the incident is suspicious.

Police, ambulance crews, and fire brigades converged on Golders Green Road around 15:35 BST on 8 May 2026 following reports of individuals feeling unwell inside the bank. Eyewitnesses observed a significant emergency services presence, with a cordon in place around the Natwest branch.
Emergency Response
Upon arrival, emergency personnel evacuated the premises. Several people were assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment. The London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service assisted in the response.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers responded to reports of people feeling unwell inside a bank in Golders Green Road at around 15:35hrs on Friday, 8 May. Police, the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service arrived within minutes, and the premises was evacuated. Several people were assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment."
Investigation Ongoing
The police added: "It is too early to say if the incident is suspicious, or to know what has caused people to feel unwell. Specialist officers are conducting further enquiries at the scene, and we will provide further updates as soon as possible. We would ask people to avoid the area as a precaution in the meantime."
