Magaluf 'Wolf Pack' Rape Hero Recounts 'Awful' Scene After Teen Attack

A hotel security guard in Magaluf has described the harrowing moment he discovered a British teenager sobbing on the lobby floor after she endured a vicious gang rape by a "wolf pack" of eight men. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of August 14, 2023, at the BH Mallorca Resort, has led to prison sentences totalling just over 73 years for the perpetrators.

Discovery of the Victim

At around 5am, the security guard, starting his early shift, found the 18-year-old girl in a state of complete distress. He told The Sun: "I came in for the morning shift and found her downstairs, she was so upset. It was awful." The guard immediately alerted the police, who arrived within five minutes and provided swift assistance. The victim received immediate medical attention and counselling, with medics noting grip marks on her arms from the assault.

Details of the Attack

The gang rape involved seven French men and one Swiss national, all aged between 18 and 26 at the time of their arrests. The 30-minute assault was marked by shocking brutality, with the victim falling unconscious during the attack. Court documents reveal that French tourists Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri and Romain Charles Michel Galatioto orally penetrated the teenager, while others raped her at least once. The attackers also spat at her, whipped her, and slapped her.

Disturbingly, members of the group recorded videos on their mobile phones during the assault, focusing on the victim's private parts and sharing the content via Snapchat. These recordings, taken while she was semi-conscious or unconscious, provided crucial evidence for the prosecution. The men chanted obscene threats and laughed loudly throughout the ordeal, with one even inviting strangers in the hotel corridor to join in.

Legal Proceedings and Sentences

All eight men struck a plea bargain deal with prosecutors just days before their trial began, accepting reduced sentences to avoid potential jail terms of over 150 years if convicted. Mejbri and Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski received nine-year sentences for sexual assault with carnal access. Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler, Haiaiel Ngandjeu Sjamen Tchatchou, and Galatioto were handed 11-year sentences for the same offence.

Satilmis Sahan admitted to sexual assault without penetration and received a four-year sentence. Additionally, all eight men, including Anthony Auque and Mouhamadou Wade who admitted to filming the attack, were given two-year, three-month prison sentences. The convicted men must also compensate the survivor with more than €100,000 (£86,000).

Aftermath and Ongoing Cases

At least two members of the group are unlikely to return to prison due to time served on remand before being granted bail nine months ago. Five others remain in prison pending a further court hearing next month, where their defence lawyers will seek their release from Spain after serving part of their sentences. The attack occurred just 400 yards from Magaluf's famous party strip, highlighting the dangers in the popular tourist destination.
