Man and Teen Boy Found Dead in Burnt Car After Highland Crash

A man and a teenage boy have been found dead in a burnt-out car following a horrific crash in the Scottish Highlands. Emergency services were called to the scene on the A830 at Corpach near Fort William after reports of a vehicle fire at 3am on Saturday, February 21.

Crews attended promptly and managed to extinguish the blaze. Formal identification of the victims is still pending, but authorities have informed the families of two males, aged 16 and 44.

Police Investigation Underway

Police believe the car, a blue Vauxhall Astra, was involved in a single-vehicle collision at approximately 1.45am. The road was closed to allow for thorough collision investigations before being fully reopened around 7pm the following day.

Investigations to establish the full circumstances are ongoing. Police have issued an appeal for individuals with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Appeal for Information

Sergeant Calum MacAulay stated: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died in this crash. It’s vital we establish exactly what happened and I’m appealing for anyone with information to come forward."

He urged anyone who was on the A830 in the early hours of Saturday morning and witnessed anything significant to contact authorities. Drivers with dash-cam footage of the area around the time are also asked to review their recordings.
