A man has been arrested following an incident at Manchester Airport that led to the closure of the drop-off forecourts at Terminal 2, causing significant disruption for travellers.
Incident Details
Greater Manchester Police were initially called to a concern for welfare report after a man was spotted on the wrong side of the fencing on the upper level of the terminal's car park. Officers have now confirmed that a man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance and a public order offence. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
The incident is no longer being treated as a welfare concern, as originally reported. The closure of the drop-off forecourts led to major traffic disruption on routes to the airport.
This is a developing story. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
