Police have launched an investigation after a man died and three others were taken to hospital following a serious disturbance at a city centre property in Glasgow.
Emergency Services Called to Early Morning Incident
Officers from Police Scotland were called to a report of a disturbance at a flat on Berkeley Street at around 6.45am on Friday, 5 December. Multiple emergency service vehicles, including police and ambulances, rushed to the scene in the heart of the city.
The area was quickly sealed off with police tape as officers began their work. Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service also attended to provide urgent medical assistance.
One Pronounced Dead, Three Hospitalised
Tragically, despite the efforts of emergency crews, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released by authorities.
Three other individuals were transported to hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The nature of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Police Confirm Ongoing Enquiries
In an official statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.45am on Friday, 5 December, we were called to a report of a disturbance within a property on Berkeley Street in Glasgow. Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene."
The statement continued: "Three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
The force moved to reassure the local community, adding: "Officers remain at the scene and there is no threat to the wider public." The police cordon remained in place throughout the morning as forensic teams and detectives conducted their initial examination of the property.
The exact circumstances leading to the disturbance are now the focus of a detailed police investigation. Officers are expected to be conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing any available CCTV footage from the area.
