The dramatic event, captured on home surveillance footage, unfolded on Thursday afternoon in San Antonio, leaving witnesses in awe of the miraculous escape.
Dramatic Footage Captures Terrifying Moment
Robert Perez, a local resident, recorded the shocking scene from his home security camera. The footage shows an unidentified rider losing control of the motorcycle on a quiet street. The bike skidded along the pavement, with the driver following just behind, before both erupted into a massive fireball.
Children Scatter as Bike Slams into Curb
As the motorcycle careened out of control, it slammed directly into a curb where four children were standing. Seeing the bike closing in, the kids scattered in panic, running for their lives. The impact caused the motorcycle to explode, breaking into multiple pieces and sending debris flying across the road and lawn outside Perez's house.
The rider, now engulfed in flames, was seen running across the street in a desperate attempt to extinguish the fire. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, with a firetruck and personnel assessing the damage and providing aid.
Miraculous Escape and Community Concerns
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed the driver was transported to a nearby hospital with second-degree burns. Astonishingly, none of the children sustained any injuries during the incident.
"I think it's nothing short of a miracle that there was not a single child that was hurt," Perez told ABC7. He recalled watching the footage in disbelief, seeing the children walking "closer and closer" to where the explosion occurred. "I did not expect to see a big fireball in the air with children standing there," he added, expressing relief at their narrow escape.

The incident has heightened concerns among local residents about reckless driving in the area. Neighbours reported that out-of-control driving is all too common and are calling for immediate safety improvements.
