A pregnant woman and her unborn child have tragically died following a serious road traffic collision in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, which left eight other people requiring hospital treatment.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The incident occurred on Sunday, 11th January 2026, on the Moria Road in Crumlin. It involved a collision between a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb. Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco, a Filipino healthcare worker who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead in hospital shortly after the crash, and her unborn baby also passed away.

Her husband, Ralph Singco, was also seriously injured in the accident and remains in hospital, where he is fighting for his life. In total, eight people were taken to hospital for treatment. Four patients were transported to Antrim Area Hospital and another four to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

A major response was launched, involving the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS), and the Air Ambulance. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service deployed six emergency ambulances, three ambulance officers, and two Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART).

Heartbreaking Tributes Pour In

The news has sent shockwaves through the community. Tributes have been paid to Ms Singco, a soon-to-be mother, who had hours before the accident shared a nostalgic post on Facebook. It was a one-year-old video from her last wedding anniversary, showing her and her husband dancing in the snow at the Jungfraujoch railway station in Switzerland, known as the 'Top of Europe'. The original caption from 10th January 2025 read 'cheers to 5 years of love as husband and wife'.

Friends and former classmates expressed their grief online. One person wrote: "It breaks my heart to learn that my college classmate's wife was among the casualties... May you rest in peace Kith." Another tribute said: "Rest in eternal peace to my batchmate and classmate and to their little baby... gone too soon!"

The family now faces an unimaginable loss as they support Ralph Singco in his recovery, while mourning Cathrene and their eagerly awaited child.
