A multi-agency search operation is underway for a 15-year-old boy who went missing after swimming at Testwood Lakes near Totton, Southampton, on Wednesday afternoon.

Teenager last seen swimming at 1:35pm

The boy was reported missing at 1:35pm on 24 June after he was last seen swimming in the lake. Emergency services, including marine units, have been deployed to the area. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the search involves the National Police Air Service (NPAS), South Central Ambulance Service, and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire Service.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "A multi-agency operation is under way following a report that a 15-year-old boy is missing after he was last seen swimming at Testwood Lakes near Totton. This was reported to police at 1:35pm on Wednesday 24 June and the area is currently off limits while our search operation is ongoing. Please avoid the area at this time."

Popular nature reserve sees high temperatures

Testwood Lakes is a popular nature reserve and tourist attraction. On the day of the incident, temperatures in the region exceeded 36°C, which may have contributed to the decision to swim. The site is known for its lakes and wildlife, but swimming is not officially permitted.

The search continues as authorities urge the public to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.
