A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger allegedly tried to storm the cockpit. United UA2005, en route from Chicago to Minneapolis on Friday night, diverted to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin, due to the security incident.
Incident Details
Another passenger on the plane reported on social media that the hostile flier, who has not been publicly identified, was ranting in Russian during the mid-flight struggle. An image posted by the passenger showed a man in a blue shirt being escorted off the aircraft by several police officers. Authorities have not yet clarified the full details of the incident.
Airline Statement
In a statement to the Daily Mail, United Airlines confirmed that the flight 'landed safely in Madison, Wisconsin to address a security concern with an unruly passenger.' The airline added that 'the flight is expected to continue to Minneapolis later on Friday.' United also noted that there were 147 passengers and six crew members on board at the time, and no injuries were reported.
