A woman is set to appear in court charged with neglecting and torturing a young girl who remains in intensive care weeks after being hospitalised.

Details of the Case

Police allege that a 10-year-old girl was admitted to Brisbane's Queensland Children's Hospital on February 9, suffering from dehydration, critical malnutrition, and significant untreated injuries. Officers were notified and launched an investigation, declaring a crime scene at a Logan Reserve home, south of Brisbane.

Charges Laid

Following extensive inquiries, a 40-year-old woman from Logan Reserve has been charged with three counts of failing to supply necessaries and one count of torture. She is scheduled to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court later on Tuesday.
