A woman arrested by Irish police investigating the murder of a young boy has been released without charge, authorities have confirmed.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was detained on Monday on suspicion of the murder of Daniel Aruebose. She was held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin region. By Tuesday morning, An Garda Síochána announced she had been released from custody. A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the investigation remains active.
The Tragic Case of Daniel Aruebose
Daniel Aruebose's remains were recovered from an area of open ground in Dublin in September of this year, following a weeks-long search in the Donabate area. The child had been reported missing after authorities discovered in August that he had not been seen for several years. Daniel would have celebrated his eighth birthday on December 12.
His case has prompted significant scrutiny of child welfare services. Ireland's child and family agency, Tusla, had interacted with Daniel's family but closed its engagement after a temporary fostering arrangement ended. The tragedy led to a series of "well-being checks" on thousands of Tusla files and a rapid review of the boy's specific case.
