A man has died after a balcony collapsed in London while he was waiting for a pizza delivery. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at a block of flats in Stratford, east London.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1:30am. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was treated for minor injuries.
The Metropolitan Police said the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collapse.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and seeing debris falling from the balcony. The man had been waiting outside for a pizza delivery when the balcony gave way.
