Disturbing new emails released by the United States Department of Justice have exposed the vile obsession that convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein harboured towards his former girlfriend's teenage daughter. The correspondence reveals Epstein's fixation on Celina Dubin, the daughter of former Miss Sweden Eva Andersson Dubin, whom he dated during the 1980s.
Epstein's Marriage Desire and Unusual Relationship
According to the recently unsealed files, Epstein told friends in 2014 that Celina Dubin was the "only person he wanted to marry" despite her being just nineteen years old at that time. This shocking revelation comes from emails that show Epstein maintained an unusually close relationship with Celina long after his romantic involvement with her mother ended in 1990.
The financier repeatedly referred to Celina as his "goddaughter" in multiple email exchanges, though the nature of their connection appears to have been far more complex than that designation suggests. Celina Dubin has since become a Harvard University-trained physician practicing in New York, but these emails reveal a troubling history during her formative years.
Family Invitations and Questionable Interactions
Email correspondence from 2010 shows that Eva Dubin invited Epstein to visit her Colorado home while Celina had five friends staying over. This invitation occurred just two years after Epstein's conviction for soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution, raising serious questions about judgment and boundaries.
Eva wrote to Epstein: "Come and visit next week. Celina will have 5 friends over." A family spokesperson for the Dubin family later clarified to Business Insider that these friends included four boys and one girl, though the appropriateness of such an invitation given Epstein's criminal history remains deeply questionable.
School Events and Familial Connections
Further emails from 2012 reveal that Eva invited Epstein to attend a school lacrosse game in Brooklyn where Celina was playing. Following the event, Epstein wrote to Celina: "It was great fun, my first game." She responded enthusiastically: "I wish you could have come to a game where I played offense but I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!!"
A Dubin family spokesperson stated that Epstein watched the game from the sidelines alongside Celina's parents, presenting the appearance of a normal family friend attending a school sporting event. However, given the broader context of Epstein's predatory history, these interactions take on a more sinister tone.
Clothing Purchases and Modelling Connections
Perhaps most disturbing are the hundreds of messages in which Celina refers to Epstein as 'Uncle F' and asks him to purchase clothing for her. In one exchange from 2011, when Epstein was in Paris, Celina requested that he buy her "sexy" clothes.
When Epstein asked what she specifically wanted, Celina responded: "Anything!! You know what I like, I also need some cool but also flattering and somewhat sexy (ish) shirts that I can wear when I go out at night." Epstein replied simply: "100%."
The emails further reveal that Epstein leveraged his connections to assist Celina with her modelling aspirations and later with medical school admissions. In 2011, Celina asked Epstein: "Do u think I should do another photoshoot soon? Should I get in touch with Jean Luc or Faith Kates?" Epstein advised: "Whatever you want. Jean Luc better."
Modelling Arrangements with Troubled Associate
Additional emails show that in 2012, Epstein contacted Jean-Luc Brunel, a prominent modelling agent, photographer, and close associate, to organise a professional fashion shoot for Celina. At the time, she was seventeen years old and had no previous professional modelling experience.
Brunel's involvement adds another layer of concern to these revelations, as he took his own life in a French prison in 2022 while awaiting trial for the rape of a minor. The connection between Epstein, Brunel, and a teenage girl seeking modelling opportunities raises serious ethical questions.
Family Response and Context
It is important to note that there is no evidence in the released emails suggesting Epstein and Celina Dubin had any romantic relationship. A Dubin family spokesperson told US media outlets: "There is no justification for dragging Celina into a public controversy she had nothing to do with."
However, the sheer volume of correspondence and the nature of the interactions documented in these emails paint a troubling picture of boundaries, power dynamics, and questionable judgment surrounding a convicted sex offender's access to a teenage girl. The emails span several years and show Epstein's persistent involvement in Celina's life from her mid-teens through young adulthood.
These revelations come as part of broader document releases related to the Epstein case, which continue to shed light on the financier's network and behaviour. The emails provide disturbing insight into how Epstein maintained relationships with families and leveraged his wealth and connections to maintain access to young people, even after his criminal conviction.
