Man charged after Glasgow street brawl with weapons and car fire

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an alleged brawl involving weapons on a Glasgow street left a teenager injured and two vehicles burnt out.

Incident in Priesthill

Emergency services, including armed police, were called to Muirshield Crescent in the Priesthill area around 7.15pm on Sunday, 21 June 2026. Officers found a car alight, and the flames spread to a stationary police van, causing it to catch fire as well.

A 19-year-old man was discovered injured at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment. His current condition and the extent of his injuries remain unknown.

Arrest and Charges

Police Scotland confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He has been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance in the Priesthill area of Glasgow. Around 7.15pm on Sunday, 21 June, 2026, police were called to the incident involving several men with weapons in Muirshiel Crescent. A 19-year-old man was found injured and was taken to hospital for treatment. The 30-year-old has been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. Extensive enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."

Fire Service Response

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended. A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 7.24pm on Sunday, 21 June, to support partners at an incident on Muirshield Crescent, Glasgow. Operations Control immediately mobilised three fire appliances, and firefighters extinguished a fire that affected two vehicles. Firefighters left the scene at 8.46pm after ensuring the area was made safe."

Photos from the scene show a car engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to the police van. The morning after, images revealed melted tarmac on the street and a badly charred fence.
