Court Evicts Mickey Rourke from LA Home, Cancels Rental Agreement
Mickey Rourke Evicted from LA Home in Court Ruling

A California court has officially terminated Mickey Rourke's rental agreement and forfeited his lease in a significant eviction case ruling. The 73-year-old Oscar-nominated actor and former boxer no longer holds any legal right to occupy the Los Angeles property following the judgment.

Court Sides with Landlord in Unlawful Detainer Case

According to newly obtained court documents, a judgment was entered in favor of Rourke's landlord, Eric T. Goldie, in the unlawful detainer proceedings. The ruling, filed on March 9 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, was entered "by default," indicating that Rourke likely failed to respond to the complaint or appear in court within the timeframe required under California law.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Rourke had received a three-day notice to either pay the outstanding rent or vacate the premises of his three-bedroom Los Angeles home. The actor allegedly owed $59,100 in unpaid rent on the Drexel Avenue property.

Goldie Granted Possession of Property

As a result of the court's decision, Goldie has been granted full possession of the property. This legal determination effectively strips Rourke of any remaining occupancy rights to the residence. Representatives for Mickey Rourke did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the eviction ruling.

Rourke's Controversial Response to Financial Support

Days after the eviction notice first surfaced in January, a GoFundMe campaign was established by Rourke's longtime manager, Kimberly Hines. The fundraiser quickly achieved its $100,000 goal, but Rourke subsequently denounced the initiative in strong terms.

In a video shared on his Instagram account, the actor expressed confusion and frustration about the campaign's creation. "And that's not me. If I needed money, I wouldn't ask for no charity. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger," Rourke stated emphatically. "Whoever did this, I don't know why they did it. I wouldn't know what a GoFundMe is in a million years."

Rourke went on to promise that any money donated by fans would be returned, declaring, "I would never ask strangers or fans for a nickel. It's not my style. You ask anybody who knows me. It's humiliating and fucking embarrassing... I want you to get your money back. All things will pass."

Recent Financial and Professional Challenges

Last year, during his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother UK, Rourke disclosed that he had been forced to borrow $500,000 from the bank. He attributed this financial strain to the combined impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Hollywood actors' strike.

His participation in the reality television program proved controversial from the outset. Rourke faced criticism for "ogling" presenter AJ Odudu and making homophobic comments directed at Dance Moms star Jojo Siwa. His six-day tenure in the house ended abruptly following reports of "threatening and aggressive" behavior toward Love Island star Chris Hughes and the use of "inappropriate sexual language" toward Towie star Ella Mae Wise.

According to reports, Rourke was originally contracted to receive £500,000 for a three-week appearance on Celebrity Big Brother UK. However, after his early removal from the show, this fee was reportedly reduced substantially to approximately £50,000. ITV did not respond to requests for comment regarding these financial arrangements at the time.
