Ex-Marine to be sentenced over Liverpool title attack

A former Royal Marine who drove into crowds celebrating a Liverpool football victory, leaving more than 100 people injured, is due to be sentenced today.

Shocking Dashcam Footage Revealed in Court

Paul Doyle, 54, is back at Liverpool Crown Court for the conclusion of a two-day sentencing hearing. The incident occurred in the city centre on May 26, following celebrations for Liverpool's Premier League title win.

During yesterday's hearing, the court was shown horrifying dashcam footage from Doyle's vehicle. The audio captured him shouting obscenities, including "move" and "get out the f****** way," as pedestrians frantically pulled children from the path of his car.

Multiple Serious Charges Admitted

Doyle has already pleaded guilty to a total of 31 offences related to the incident. These charges include dangerous driving and affray.

Most significantly, he admitted to 17 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and a further nine counts of causing GBH with intent.

Awaiting the Judge's Sentence

The court will now determine the appropriate punishment for the catalogue of crimes. The case has drawn significant attention due to the scale of the incident, the nature of the celebrations it disrupted, and the severity of the charges brought.

All eyes are on Liverpool Crown Court as the judge prepares to deliver the final sentence for an attack that turned a moment of civic joy into one of terror and injury.
