Husband Files for Divorce Over Wife's OnlyFans Account, Citing Humiliation
Divorce over OnlyFans account sparks online debate

A British man has announced he is filing for divorce from his wife after she created an account on the adult content platform OnlyFans, stating he is unable to cope with the profound sense of humiliation it has caused him and their family.

The Decision That Split a Family

The husband explained that his wife has long been an active social media user, building a following of thousands on Instagram. The situation escalated when a friend informed her about the significant income potential from posting adult material on the subscription site, describing the experience as "freeing".

His wife, whom he described as "a free spirit", subsequently announced her plan to join OnlyFans and intended to leave her conventional job once she had established a lucrative following on the platform.

Daughter Bullied Following Mother's Social Media Poll

The man claims the move has had devastating consequences, particularly for their 11-year-old daughter. Before creating the OnlyFans account, his wife posted an Instagram poll asking her followers if they wanted to see her on the adult site.

This poll was seen by the couple's daughter and her classmates, leading to the child being mocked at school. "Our daughter screamed at her mother and nasty words were exchanged. They are not talking and this was two weeks ago," the father recounted.

Despite his objections, his wife proceeded to make the account and began posting content. "Yesterday I told her I'm filing for divorce and I'd ask for full custody," he stated. "I can't stand the shame and our daughter is heartbroken and being bullied at school."

Fierce Online Debate Over Boundaries and Autonomy

After sharing his story on Reddit to seek opinions, the man faced a polarised response. Some commentators strongly criticised his stance. One respondent questioned his "outdated 18th century mindset" for believing an OnlyFans account brings shame upon a family.

Another argued: "Your daughter getting teased because her mom has an OF account is BS. Someone needs to teach her how to stand up for herself and her mom's bodily autonomy, and that sex work is real work." Others urged couples therapy, calling his decision to end the marriage "weak".

However, many others supported his position. Some viewed the wife's actions as a "form of cheating" and a clear violation of marital boundaries. "She violated your boundaries for the relationship and continued to do what she wanted without sparing a thought to you or her daughter," one supporter wrote.

Another commenter emphasised the need for mutual agreement, stating: "Your children are negatively affected and such a major lifestyle change requires mutual agreement in a partnership." The case highlights the complex clash between personal autonomy, modern relationships, and parenting in the digital age.
