A horrific alleged gang rape has shocked authorities in India after a 30-year-old nurse was attacked following a simple mistake. The married mother-of-one reportedly knocked on the wrong hotel room door, leading to a brutal ordeal.
The Night of the Attack
The incident took place in Maharashtra state between 11pm on Wednesday, December 20th, and 3am on Thursday, December 21st, 2025. The victim, a nurse at a private hospital, was visiting a friend at the hotel.
According to police, she mistakenly went to room 205 instead of room 105. Upon knocking, she was allegedly forced inside by the occupants.
Details of the Alleged Assault
Once inside the room, the woman was reportedly made to drink alcohol before being subjected to a gang rape. The accused men, who were friends gathered in the room to drink, are alleged to have taken advantage of the situation.
In a brave act, the victim managed to escape in the early hours of the morning. She opened the door and raised the alarm, allowing her to seek immediate help.
Swift Police Action and Arrests
Vedant Nagar police swiftly launched an investigation. Within three hours, they tracked down and arrested three suspects.
The arrested men have been named as:
- Ghanshyam Rathod, 27
- Kiran Rathod, 27
- Rishikesh Chavan, 25
Police revealed that both Rathods work as recovery agents for a bank, while Chavan is a student. A preliminary probe confirmed the trio were friends drinking together in the hotel room when the victim arrived at their door by mistake.
The case has highlighted ongoing concerns about violent crime and women's safety. Investigations by Indian authorities are continuing as they work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
