CCTV footage captured a woman concealing a pair of sunglasses inside her knickers before walking out of BAZ24, a high-end boutique in the Dutch resort town of Bergen aan Zee. The shop owner has made a public plea for the items to be returned.
Incident Details
The alleged theft occurred at the beachfront boutique on the promenade, known for its trendy bohemian holiday clothing. Security footage shows the suspect selecting the sunglasses and hiding them in her underwear. She was also seen wearing a dress with a tag still attached, though it is unclear if that item was stolen as well.
No police intervention has been reported, and the shop owner is requesting the woman come forward voluntarily to resolve the matter.
Location and Context
Bergen aan Zee is described as an elegant coastal resort popular among wealthy Dutch holidaymakers and artists. The area features celebrity restaurants, designer shops, and a relaxed atmosphere supporting independent businesses. BAZ24 offers a beach-vibe aesthetic similar to Ibiza.
Social media users urged the woman to return the sunglasses, calling her actions "not very smart" given the visible CCTV cameras.
