Spanish police have arrested six individuals in connection with the alleged gang rape of an 18-year-old British woman in Magaluf, Majorca. The incident is believed to have occurred early on Monday at a hotel in the popular holiday resort.
Five French tourists and one Swiss tourist have been detained on suspicion of sexual assault and violation of privacy. The victim reportedly met the group in the early hours and followed them to their hotel, where she was forced into sexual intercourse and filmed by the alleged attackers.
The woman managed to escape and was found by hotel staff calling for help on the street. This case follows a similar incident in July, when a group of German tourists were arrested for the suspected gang rape of another woman on the island.
Magaluf, known for its cheap alcohol and beach parties, has long been a target for authorities aiming to shift its reputation towards a more upmarket and family-friendly destination. The recent arrests highlight ongoing concerns about tourist safety and behaviour in the area.
